Bardolino Chiaretto

The two grape varieties, Corvina and Rondinella, are vinified separately. They are given a cold 6-8 hour maceration on the skins, which extracts just enough colour to give a lively hue to the juice. The must then ferments at a cool 17°C. The finished wine matures on the fine lees in 50hl stainless steel tanks until the following spring, when it is bottled.
Always one of the season's finest pink wines, this organic beauty comes from vineyards to the east of Lake Garda, in northern Italy. A blend of Corvina and Rondinella grapes, you might know them from Valpolicella, it is a typical expression of one of Italy's most famous pink wines, the Chiaretto of Bardolino.
